Later, the minister admitted that he made a "mistake" after he tried, with his entourage, to enter the Patna airport through the exit gate. "I did wrong, should not have tried to enter from the exit gate," Yadav said, adding that he was in a hurry.

The incident, caught on camera, shows the Union Minister arguing with a woman inspector that he should be allowed to use the exit gate to enter the Patna Airport premises.

The woman inspector on duty consulted her seniors and told Yadav her decision cannot be changed and regardless of what designation he holds he will not be allowed to enter the airport through the wrong gate.

According to reports, the inspector later said she would have been suspended had she agreed to the minister's request.

Ram Kripal Yadav was at the airport to receive his Cabinet colleague Bandaru Dattatreya.
