The yet-to-be announced smartphone's details have not been announced. Although, the company has issued invites with a teaser image on Twitter.

The company's recent move is enough to indicate that Xiaomi understands the need to strengthen its presence in Indian mobile market. And, probably that's why the company has decided to release the smartphone in India, China may be the second in line.

Xiaomi CEO and founder Lei Jun and president Bin Lin will also present along with global vice president Hugo Barra.


Xiaomi's recently joined hands with 'The Mobile Store' to facilitate offline sales as even after registration some people were not able to buy the smartphones during the time of flash sales as the phone units went out of stocks in just a few seconds. On Thursday, it announced it will no more be selling its handsets exclusively through Flipkart.


Xiaomi has opened up its very own Mi stores on Snapdeal and Amazon with attractive offers on its variety of products.

Xiaomi also entered the Guinness Book of World Records after it sold around 2.11 million phones in its 12-hour flash sale that was held to mark its 5-year birth anniversary.

Speculations are rife that the new device might be Mi 5 which will run on Lollipop-based MIUI 7 user interface along with Android Open Kang Project (popularly known as AOKP). AOKP disclosed that Xiaomi and team Kang is working on a new refreshed MIUI 7 that will be based on Lollipop 5.1 for Mi 5.
