The device will be available exclusively via online e-commerce website Amazon India and Mi.com.

The company through an official press note has confirmed that the Redmi Note Prime is the second ' Make in India' smartphone after the Redmi 2 Prime.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime will be manufactured in Andhra Pradesh in partnership with Foxconn. The latest android device will be up against the popular Lenovo K3 Note.

  • The Redmi Note Prime runs on Android 4.4 KitKat-based MIUI 7.
  • It is a dual-SIM supporting smartphone that features a 5.5-inch IPS display with a HD (720x1280 pixels)
  • The handset is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor
  • The device is clubbed with 2GB LPDDR3 of RAM.
  • The smartphone includes 16GB of inbuilt storage, which can be expanded via microSD card (up to 32GB).
  • The  Redmi Note Prime sports a 13-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash, and 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
  • The handset is backed by a 3100mAh battery.
  • Connectivity options of the Redmi Note Prime include GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with hotspot functionality, Bluetooth v4.0, FM radio, Micro-USB 2.0, USB-OTG and GPS/ A-GPS.
  • It measures 154x78.7x9.4mm and weighs 185 grams.
