This was the largest lot of Xiaomi device put on sale by the company since it began selling smartphones through Flipkart last month.

Earlier, the company had sold out 15,000 Mi3 devices online in two seconds flat to break its previous record.

According to reports, till date the company has sold over 55,000 Mi3 smartphones in the country.

The smartphone at just Rs 13,999 packs a Snapdragon 800, which is by far the cheapest high-end phone available in the market.

It features a 5.0-inch full HD display and runs on highly customised Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system.

The smartphone competes with the likes of the Nexus 5, Galaxy S4, Xperia Z at nearly half the price.
