Also, at the launch event in China, Xiaomi launched Prime variant of Redmi Note 2. The Redmi Note 2 is priced at Rs 9,000 (approximately), while Redmi Note 2 Prime at Rs 10,000.

The Redmi Note 2 sports a 5.5-inch HD display having 2080x1920 pixels of resolution. The Xiaomi new launch is powered with a 2 GHz MediaTek Helio X10 octa-core processor coupled with a 2GB RAM.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 offers an internal memory space of 16 GB and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop. The dual-sim smartphone gets its juice from 3,060 mAh battery and on connectivity front, the phone offers 4G, 3G, LTE, Bluetooth and GPS.

While, the Prime model of Redmi Note 2 is powered with a 2.2GHz MediaTek Helio X10 octa-core processor and 32 GB storage.

Xiaomi also unveiled MiUI 7, the next version of its Android-based operating system. The much-awaited OS 'MIUI 7' will be launched in India on  August 19 in New Delhi.
