The increase in toll rates for the 165-km-long expressway from Greater Noida to Agra was made effective from Tuesday, said P C Gupta, Chief Executive Officer, Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority.

The new toll rate for four-wheelers is Rs 330, up by Rs 10, while it is Rs 165 for two-wheelers, up by Rs 15, for a one-way trip to Agra from Greater Noida. Tax for other vehicles - commercial and large - has also been hiked by up to 10%. Buses and trucks will pay Rs 1,150, minibuses and other light commercial vehicles Rs 550, and other multi-axle vehicles Rs 1,765. For a same-day roundtrip between Greater Noida and Agra, two wheelers will have to pay Rs 265, four-wheelers Rs 530, minibuses Rs 880, and buses and trucks Rs 1,840. Vehicles with more than 7 tyres have to Rs 2,100 to Rs 2,260.

The rates for destinations before Agra have also been hiked proportionately.

The concessionaire, Jaypee Infratech, said that the toll hike was notified by the UP government earlier this month and endorsed by the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA).

The expressway has three toll plazas located at Jewar (38 km), Mathura (94 km) and Agra (150 km).

The UP government has now authorized Yamuna Expressway Industrial development Authority to sanction the annual increment in toll rates from April 1 every year.
