Bangalore: In a bid to resurrect his political career, embattled former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa has now ramped up pressure on the party central leadership. Bharatiya Janata Party MPs on Thursday met senior party leader LK Advani and party president Nitin Gadkari to pitch for reinstating Yeddyurappa as the Chief Minister of the state.

In a letter signed by 17 MPs, they have requested the high command to bring back Yeddyurappa in the next elections as he wields good clout and is capable enough to lead the state.

The former CM is in the national capital for the past three days striving hard for the revival and stability of his political career.

However, the BJP high command seems to be not in favour of giving any important post to him at least in the near future in view of the recent corruption charges against him.

According to sources, Yeddyurappa is leaving no stone unturned to highlight his strengths in order to pitchfork himself at the post of the Chief Minster in the state or at least for becoming state BJP president in the forthcoming legislative council by-poll.
