Gopeshwar (Chamoli):  Launching a scathing attack on UPA government, Yoga guru Baba Ramdev urged the people to elect honest candidates in the upcoming Assembly elections.

Ramdev expressed hope that after winning the polls these candidates will positively contribute in bringing back the blackmoney stashed in foreign countries.

After holding a yoga camp for three days in Gopeshwar, the yoga guru arrived at Gauchar in Chamoli district as a part of his India Swabhiman Yatra.

While addressing a gathering here on Monday, Baba said the country is facing poverty due to erroneous economic policies of the UPA government.

He also demanded the abolition of different types of taxes and imposition of two percent transaction taxes only.

The yoga guru sought to create awareness among the people about the usefulness of yoga. He urged them to encourage the use of Swadeshi items and avoid smoking or drinking habits.

On the occasion, women also presented a cultural programme.
