Film: Youngistaan

Director: Syed Ahmad Afzal

Cast: Jackky Bhagnani, Neha Sharma,Farooq Sheikh, Boman Irani, Kayoze Irani, Meeta Vasisht

Story Line: Abhimanyu Kaul (Jackky Bhagnani) is a young game developer, who stays in Japan along with his girlfriend Anwita Chauhan (Neha Sharma). Their life is full of fun, energy, love, booze and endless partying and clubbing. Both of them live their life king size.

And then Abhimanyu’s life reaches a turning point when his father (Boman Irani), who is the Prime Minister of India, dies. However, before dying Abhimanyu’s father takes a promise from him that he would carry forward his political legacy.

Now caught between two different lifestyles, Abhimanyu faces a deep conundrum that transforms his life.

On one side, Abhimanyu has to behave in a very mature manner due to the political etiquettes but on the other hand his previous life style and love life pulls him in the opposite direction.

Abhimanyu struggles to maintain a balance between his two different lifestyles and the media and his political rivals try their best to prove him as an immature and naïve Prime Minister.

But when the movie reaches its climax, Abhimanyu emerges a winner, who can balance any kind of adverse situation in his life.

Movie Review: Without an iota of doubt, the movie is quite fresh and new. The director has a firm believe on his concept and has received good success in maintaining the interest of the viewers till the end.

Bhagnani has put in honest efforts to portray the problems and conundrums of Abhimanyu’s life.

But still despite giving it all, his immaturity reflects on this movie in a poor taste. Bhagnani’s child-like expressions in the serious scenes of the movie makes it a sore for your eyes. The movie could have been impressive if a matured and well-established actor was there instead of Bhagnani.

Bhagnani’s efforts still can’t be ignored and the movie can be watched just once for his sincere and true labour.

Interestingly, another movie that releases this Friday will reignite the Khan war as ‘Youngistaan’ has a surprise special appearance of Shahrukh Khan while ‘O Teri’ has a cameo by Salman Khan.
