Rishikesh: With an aim to strengthen the youth wing and discuss future policies, the three day meeting of All Indian Youth Congress (AIYC) started at Rishikesh from Monday. The three-day meet is being attended by all the state presidents of AIYC and prominent youth leaders.

While addressing the party members, National president of AIYC, Rajiv Satav said, “Party will try to ensure maximum participation of youths in the upcoming state assembly elections.” During the meeting, Satav reviewed the state-wise performance of the AIYC.

A special thrust would be given to the states where Congress had conducted elections to select the Youth Congress members.
Satav said, “The main motive of the meet is to discuss our preparations for the future, ways to strengthen the party unit and the work policy which we should adopt.”

On the issue of forthcoming elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and other states, Satav remarked, “Party general secretary Rahul Gandhi has taken the party reins in his hand in these states, therefore there are bright possibilities that youth candidates will be given preference in the assembly polls.”

Satav also said he would soon inform the party high command about the agendas of Youth Congress.
He further added, “Youth Congress is making best possible efforts to prevent people mainly minors from getting addicted to drugs and alcohol.”
