New Delhi: Police on Tuesday registered a case of murder in connection with the recovery of the mutilated body of a BBA student in east Delhi, with his family alleging that the family of his girlfriend was behind his death.
The body of Paras Bhasin, 23, was recovered from Pandav Nagar railway tracks on Saturday with police initially claiming it to be a case of suicide. Paras' family, however, alleged it to be a murder case.
"Police on Tuesday filed a case of murder. We could not trace the girl's family," a senior police official said.
Sanjeev Bhasin said his son had left home around 3.30 PM on Saturday and they received a call from an unknown number at 4.15 PM informing Paras is lying dead on railway tracks at
Pandav Nagar.
The family of Paras alleged his girlfriend's family in Ghaziabad was behind his death. Paras and his girlfriend got married in May against the wishes of girl's family, the family alleged.
They alleged that the girl's father used to threaten Paras to end the relationship.
